5 Delicious Craft Cocktails to Ring in the New Year

As we say goodbye to the old and hello to the new, there's no better way to celebrate the new year than with a delicious craft cocktail in hand. Whether you're looking to ring in the new year with a classic champagne cocktail or something a little more unique, we've got you covered with these five craft cocktails that are sure to be a hit at your New Year's celebration.



 

1. Soar into the New Year

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Gin

  • 1 ½ oz. Sorel Hibiscus Liqueur

  • 3-5 dashes of Black Walnut bitters

  • ½ Fresh Lemon Juice

  • Ice

  • Garnish: Dehydrated citrus wheel

  • Garnish: Rosemary sprig

  • Glass: Rocks glass, Collins or Wine Glass


Directions:


Step 1: Begin by “quick” chilling your cocktail glass. Fill the glass with ice and water to the rim. Set aside.


Step 2: In a mixing glass, combine all ingredients. Add a small scoop of ice and stir for 30-40 rotations.


Step 3: Strain into a cocktail glass over fresh ice


Step 4: Delicately place the lemon twist on top of the cocktail.


 

2. Orange Brûlée

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. Bourbon creme

  • 1 oz. Whiskey (Rye or Bourbon are great!)

  • 1/2 oz Licor 43

  • 1/2 oz. Coffee liqueur

  • 1/2 oz. Spiced brown sugar + vanilla syrup

  • Garnish: Orange slice

  • Garnish: ¼ tsp Brown Sugar

  • Glass: Rocks Glass

Directions:


Step 1: Begin by “quick” chilling your cocktail glass. Fill the glass with ice and water to the rim. Set aside.


Step 2: In a mixing glass, combine all ingredients. Add a small scoop of ice and stir for 30-40 rotations.


Step 3: Strain into a cocktail glass over fresh ice


Step 4: Place a fresh orange wheel on a smoking coaster. Add a 1/4 tsp of brown sugar to the top and spread it around evenly. Using a torch, brûlée the brown sugar until it crackles and smokes. Then delicately place the orange slice on top of the cocktail.


 

3. Cinnamon + Thyme Sour

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. Rye

  • 1/2 oz. Licor 43

  • 1/2 oz. Mulled cinnamon syrup

  • 1/2 Fresh lemon juice

  • One egg white

  • Garnish: Thyme Sprig

  • Garnish: Lemon Slice

  • Glass: Rocks Glass or Tumbler

Directions:


Step 1: Begin by quickly chilling your cocktail glass. Fill the glass with ice and water to the rim. Set aside.


Step 2: In a shaker, combine all ingredients. Add a small scoop of ice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds


Step 3: Strain into a cocktail glass. Ice optional.


Step 4: Smoke the thyme spring and place the lemon slice and the thyme sprig in the cocktail.


 

4. Christmas Punch

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. light rum or whiskey

  • 1/2 oz. cranberry juice

  • 1/4 oz. tart cherry juice

  • 1/2 oz. rich simple syrup

  • 1 dash grated fresh ginger

  • 1 dash nutmeg, freshly grated

  • 2 oz. ginger ale

  • Garnish: candied ginger

  • Garnish: Rosemary sprig

  • Glass: Rocks Glass or Tumbler

Directions:


Step 1: Combine all ingredients except ginger ale in a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.


Step 2: Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice, top with the ginger ale, and gently stir to combine.


Step 3: Garnish with a couple of pieces of candied ginger and a sprig of rosemary.


 

5. Fizzy Fig 75

Ingredients:

  • 2 fresh figs, quartered

  • 1 oz. Ginger+ Elderflower syrup

  • 1 ½ oz. Vodka, Gin, or Anejo Tequila

  • ½ Fresh lemon juice

  • 2-3 oz. of Brut champagne

  • Ice (Optional)

  • Garnish: Fig slice

  • Glass: Rocks glass or flute


Directions:


Step 1: Combine all ingredients except champagne and figs in a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled (8-10 seconds).


Step 2: Add ice and fig slices into the glass before straining. Strain the concoction into a rocks glass and top it with champagne.


Step 3: Garnish with a fig slice.
