About the Event
April 21st is National Tea Day – did you know it takes around 2,000 tiny leaves to make just one pound of finished tea.
April 22nd is Earth Day – did you know that the first recorded terrarium was built in 1842 by, esteemed botanist, Nathaniel Bagshaw.
After much brainstorming, we are excited to partner with Ally from the Queen’s Tea to teach us not only about her thriving tea company but also about the intriguing history of one of the world’s oldest beverages.
To tie in Earth Day, we will be building terrariums with Glory Sunday, a true plant goddess.
We would be amiss if we did not include one of our favorite activities, creating cocktails! Utilizing Queen’s Tea's delicious products, Alexi Fisher, owner of the Cocktail Collective, will walk you through a hands-on lesson on how to best use tea in cocktail creation.
On top of receiving some great information and a hands-on lesson, you will also receive:
- A lantern terrarium to build and take home
- Plants, seedlings, and other necessary things to help create your terrarium
- Four cocktails/mocktails served through the night with take-home recipe cards
- A personal charcuterie to enjoy for the duration of the class
- And more!
This is a jam-packed event with several educators and activities. A personal and fun experience is what we aim to offer. That is why this class will be limited to an 18-seat capacity. We expect this event to last roughly about 2-hours. We look forward to seeing you there!
